Slabjacking your Concrete in MontgomeryWhether you have uneven slabs jutting out or cracks forming in your concrete, these hazards pose a risk to foot traffic. It’s best to repair damaged concrete sooner rather than later before someone gets injured. Avoid the expensive and lengthy process of ripping apart and replacing a concrete section and save yourself hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Mudjacking (aka pressure grouting) is a concrete leveling method that involves pumping a mixture of sand, cement, and other materials under sunken concrete. This mud mixture is also called Portland cement. This material is used for concrete driveways, sidewalks, steps, patios, and many other locations where it's deemed suitable. After holes are drilled into the cement, a specialized tool called the hydraulic pump pushes the mud mix into those holes. This material mixture fills in voids underneath the concrete slabs and stabilizes the soil that undergirds them. Typically, this method supports the concrete slabs for around 2-5 years before erosion finds its way to unsettle it again. However, some slabjacking procedures may lead to longer-lasting results than 5 years. After this process is finished, our team will fill in the holes and make the repairs look as if the holes never existed, so you don’t have to worry about the aesthetics of your repaired concrete. Our concrete repair experts make sure that your concrete looks better than before we arrived. |

Our Mud Jacking Contractors Know Best
Grout pumping should not be used to fill in surfaces with holes (e.g., potholes) as this slurry is not built to be a surface material. It works best underneath the slab, not on top of the surface, as nature will find its way to erode the material quickly just like with any other mud surfaces.
Unfortunately, foundation and pool repairs cannot completely depend on the mudjacking method because these foundations hold a lot of weight which leads to controlling issues. Both houses and pools are very heavy, and traditional mud jacking material by itself cannot withstand the heavy weight for long periods of time. Slurry is not made for large load bearing. Large and heavy structures require a more controllable material, such as Polyurethane Foam.

Montgomery Grout Pumping Procedure Explained
Locations of the drilling holes are targeted to best lift the section of concrete that needs raising. Holes are then drilled into the concrete surface. There will typically be 3-5 holes drilled into the concrete with each being 1 to 2 inches wide.
Our Montgomery concrete leveling will space these holes evenly and consistently from the edge of the concrete. The pattern of these holes will not be random.

A specialized nozzle is then inserted into each of these holes and a semi-liquid mud mixture is then pushed into and underneath the concrete section to lift the surface.
Surprisingly, this substance is not real mud but rather what the construction industry calls slurry. Slurry contains a mixture of sand, cement, and water to form a semi-liquid fluid that is then pumped through these holes. It serves the purpose of filling in empty spaces underneath the concrete surface while lifting the concrete slab. After the procedure is finished, this mixture then dries up and hardens to give sturdy, strong support.

Once the mud mixture is pumped under the concrete section, our professionals then double checks that the slab is completely leveled and returned to its original position. The holes are then back filled and leveled off as if they were never there.
At first, the back filled holes will be visible for a certain time, but they will eventually fade and become invisible to the naked eye. However, if the fresh concrete left behind is still bothersome, you can cover them up with a plant pot or any other decorative item until the hole trace fully disappears.
Is Cement Jacking Right For Your Needs?
If your concrete sections are crumbling or in poor condition, mud jacking may not be the optimal choice. The process of pressure grouting provides only a temporary fix but is especially useful when your concrete slab is still strong and in good shape. If your concrete surface has a good number of years left in it, it may be a good option to choose when you want to save on expenses.
